Our Learning

Autumn Term

November 2025

In Pine Class we have been working hard in our lessons, we have been practicing our number work counting forwards. We have also been working on our 1-1 correspondence which can still be a little tricky but we are working hard on this. We have had fun learning about our 2D and 3D shapes.

We have had our first Mini bus trip out which was amazing, we went to Truffet Park and we got to play with all the equipment. We made everyone very proud as we played with our friends and listened to instructions when it was time to leave. We also had our first Hydro session, which we all loved we got to play in the pool and interact with our friends from Oak class. We look forward to Fridays even more now.

Settling In

October 2025

We have had a very busy start to the year in Pine class, we have all settled in well and are doing amazingly with our transitions around school. We are enjoying getting to know our new adults and our friends in class, we are beginning to form some really nice friendships.

We love our weekly forest school sessions, where we get to explore the area and find out lots of new things. We can climb, explore, and relax in the hammock which most of us love to do. We also love when the campfire gets lit and we can sit around and help cook, some of us even enjoy trying the different food.

We have been working hard in class, we have been learning some life skills such as how to keep ourselves clean and tidy. We have also been learning different skills during our cooking sessions, such as how to wash our hands, chopping and making different healthy food options. We have also been working really hard on our communication skills, we use our communication boards in class to tell people how we feel, what we need and want. We have also been having some sessions where we get to play with different toys, listen to music, read a book and so many more activities. During these sessions we get to use the boards to communicate if we like it or need different resources.

We especially love our Friday mornings as we get to relax and enjoying spending time with our friends whilst in the light room and soft play. This is where we have been forming lots of different friendships.
